I'm still at a lost for words to sum up the whole Presidential election and inauguration experience so please bare with me. This morning was one of the warmest coldest days I can remember. My husband, son and I snuggled in the bed to watch the inauguration and I have been crying since 8:00 am PST. I'm a little emotional right now. I hate to do a Sarah Palin, but I liked EVERYTHING about what we experienced this morning. It was amazing to watch President Obama stand and give a speech with so much grace and conviction. I mean, if this was me I would not have been able to keep the tears back. It was was awesome to see people put there differences to the side for a moment. Okay, Frankie acted a stone cold fool last night on Keyshia Cole: The Way It Is Season III - Episodes 1 and 2. It was just a little disappointing to see that she was not trying to save her relationship with Keyshia, Neffe, Ms. Yvonne or any of her other kids.

We have a lot of respect for Ms. Yvonne for trying her best to stay neutral and try to allow Frankie to come to her sinces. And Neffe just gets a standing ovation for trying to move on. Her her behavior was totally not the business and our recommendation to Frankie is:

I absolutely cannot believe (or I guess I'm forced to believe) that this stupidity is still going on. I mean like seriously my mouth is just wide open on this subject. So these kids in the ~~woods~~ priviledged community thought they had the right to hang a freaking Obama doll to express some kind of freedom they are entitled to. I mean didn't we just go through the whole Jena-6 thing!!!!!!

Anywho, the most disappointing part about this is that this is the high school my husband went to and graduated before attending the University of Washington in the early 90's. Now this is being reported I could only imagine what it was like for him to go to school every day considering that he is Philipino.

Five students at White River High School in Buckley are accused of hanging a doll of Obama with a rope by its neck in what appears to be a mock lynching. On Dec. 16 Imani/Geffen/Interscope will release her third album, “A Different Me,” which will drop in the wake of the 360 deal Cole signed with Interscope that includes a movie based on her life.

I am so proud that Rodney King is starting to open up! Go Rodney, Go Rodney, Go Rodney Go!
He talks about how his disease (drugs and alcohol) have separated him from his children. Now I'm still trying to understand this Sean Stewart character. This is not his first time in rehab at all. I think this is like his 9th or 10th time.

Anyways, his father (Rod Stewart) wasn't around much when he was a kid, however, now that his touring has slowed Rod is a permanent fixture in Sean's life. This story sounds really familiar to me and hopefully through this show I will have a better understanding of why he has not been able to kick his habit as an adult.

Chinese President Hu Jintao and US president-elect Barack Obama Saturday discussed in a telephone conversation relations between China and the United States and major international issues of common concern, including the ongoing global financial crisis.

In the telephone conversation, Hu expressed appreciation to Obama for emphasizing in his election campaign speeches the great importance of China-US relations, and for advocating the strengthening of China-US cooperation in jointly responding to global challenges and in sharing global development opportunities.

Hu pointed out that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries 30 years ago, bilateral relations have generally kept developing despite setbacks, scoring hard-earned achievements and bringing about tangible interests to both nations.

As the largest developing nation and the largest developed nation, China and the United States share extensive common interests on issues related to world peace and development, and both assume important responsibility in this regard, Hu said.

In the new historical period of time, China is willing to maintain high-level exchange with the United States and also contacts at all levels, continue strategic dialogue with the United States, increase exchange and cooperation between the two countries in all fields, and strengthen the exchange of opinion and coordination with the United States on major international and regional issues, the Chinese president noted.

WASHINGTON African-American man Barack Obama, 47, was given the least-desirable job in the entire country Tuesday when he was elected president of the United States of America. In his new high-stress, low-reward position, Obama will be charged with such tasks as completely overhauling the nation's broken-down economy, repairing the crumbling infrastructure, and generally having to please more than 300 million Americans and cater to their every whim on a daily basis. As part of his duties, the black man will have to spend four to eight years cleaning up the messes other people left behind. If you thought President~~-elect~~ Barack Obama was going to wait until January 2009 to address the state of the economy well you can forgetaboutit :) He's coming out of the blocks quickly and taking his position as a world leader seriously.

President Obama held his first press conference as "president-elect" stressing that the focus of his efforts would be the struggling middle class.

We need a rescue plan for the middle class that invests in immediate efforts to create jobs provides relief to families that are watching their paychecks shrink and their life savings disappear," Obama said in his opening statement before taking questions.

We are facing the greatest economic challenge of our lifetime, and we must act swiftly to resolve them," he added, while also deferring to President Bush and his economic team, noting that the country has only one government and one president at a time.

"This morning, we woke to more sobering news about the state of our economy," Obama said in his opening statement. The 240,000 jobs lost in October marks the 10th consecutive month that our economy has shed jobs. In total, we've lost nearly 1.2 million jobs this year and more than 10 million Americans are now unemployed. Tens of millions of families are struggling to figure out how to pay the bills and stay in their homes."

I have to give it to him. Even though he is not addressing homelessness directly, he understands that Washington must begin to undo the barriers preventing Americans from employment and to focus on keeping people in their homes. I can't even recall if President Bush has even said that we are in a "recession" now he has said "crisis", however, Barack Obama is addressing this country one issue at a time and by that I mean he trying to keep people in their homes. Amen!

NPR.org, November 5, 2008 · My friends, we have come to the end of a long journey. The American people have spoken, and they have spoken clearly. A little while ago, I had the honor of calling Sen. Barack Obama — to congratulate him on being elected the next president of the country that we both love. In a contest as long and difficult as this campaign has been, his success alone commands my respect for his ability and perseverance. But that he managed to do so by inspiring the hopes of so many millions of Americans, who had once wrongly believed that they had little at stake or little influence in the election of an American president, is something I deeply admire and commend him for achieving. This is an historic election, and I recognize the special significance it has for African-Americans and for the special pride that must be theirs tonight. I've always believed that America offers opportunities to all who have the industry and will to seize it. Sen. Obama believes that, too. But we both recognize that though we have come a long way from the old injustices that once stained our nation's reputation and denied some Americans the full blessings of American citizenship, the memory of them still had the power to wound. A century ago, President Theodore Roosevelt's invitation of Booker T. Washington to visit — to dine at the White House — was taken as an outrage in many quarters. America today is a world away from the cruel and prideful bigotry of that time. There is no better evidence of this than the election of an African-American to the presidency of the United States. Let there be no reason now for any American to fail to cherish their citizenship in this, the greatest nation on Earth. Sen. Obama has achieved a great thing for himself and for his country. I applaud him for it, and offer my sincere sympathy that his beloved grandmother did not live to see this day — though our faith assures us she is at rest in the presence of her Creator and so very proud of the good man she helped raise. Sen. Obama and I have had and argued our differences, and he has prevailed. No doubt many of those differences remain. These are difficult times for our country, and I pledge to him tonight to do all in my power to help him lead us through the many challenges we face. I urge all Americans who supported me to join me in not just congratulating him, but offering our next president our goodwill and earnest effort to find ways to come together, to find the necessary compromises, to bridge our differences and help restore our prosperity, defend our security in a dangerous world, and leave our children and grandchildren a stronger, better country than we inherited. Whatever our differences, we are fellow Americans. And please believe me when I say no association has ever meant more to me than that. It is natural tonight to feel some disappointment, but tomorrow we must move beyond it and work together to get our country moving again. We fought — we fought as hard as we could. Dr. Cornell West: I mean that Barack Obama's brilliance, charisma, organizational genious signifies the end of Reagan, the end of the epic of conservatism and the end of the rule of the Republican party in the last 8 years. And that means then the economics of greed, the culture of indifference to the poor and the politics of fear now come to an end.

And the question now is we are on a tight rope. We are in a transitional moment. What will the age of Obama look like? Can we get beyond the trivializing of the poor peoples suffering? CHICAGO, Illinois (CNN) -- Sen. Barack Obama spoke at a rally in Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois, after winning the race for the White House Tuesday night. The following is an exact transcript of his speech:

Obama: Hello, Chicago.

If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible, who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time, who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer.

It's the answer told by lines that stretched around schools and churches in numbers this nation has never seen, by people who waited three hours and four hours, many for the first time in their lives, because they believed that this time must be different, that their voices could be that difference.
It's the answer spoken by young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, black, white, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, gay, straight, disabled and not disabled. Americans who sent a message to the world that we have never been just a collection of individuals or a collection of red states and blue states.

We are, and always will be, the United States of America.
It's the answer that led those who've been told for so long by so many to be cynical and fearful and doubtful about what we can achieve to put their hands on the arc of history and bend it once more toward the hope of a better day.

It's been a long time coming, but tonight, because of what we did on this date in this election at this defining moment change has come to America.

A little bit earlier this evening, I received an extraordinarily gracious call from Sen. McCain.

Sen. McCain fought long and hard in this campaign. And he's fought even longer and harder for the country that he loves. He has endured sacrifices for America that most of us cannot begin to imagine. We are better off for the service rendered by this brave and selfless leader.

I congratulate him; I congratulate Gov. Palin for all that they've achieved. And I look forward to working with them to renew this nation's promise in the months ahead.

I want to thank my partner in this journey, a man who campaigned from his heart, and spoke for the men and women he grew up with on the streets of Scranton and rode with on the train home to Delaware, the vice president-elect of the United States, Joe Biden.

And I would not be standing here tonight without the unyielding support of my best friend for the last 16 years the rock of our family, the love of my life, the nation's next first lady Michelle Obama.

Sasha and Malia I love you both more than you can imagine. And you have earned the new puppy that's coming with us to the new White House.

And while she's no longer with us, I know my grandmother's watching, along with the family that made me who I am. I miss them tonight. I know that my debt to them is beyond measure.

To my sister Maya, my sister Alma, all my other brothers and sisters, thank you so much for all the support that you've given me. I am grateful to them.

And to my campaign manager, David Plouffe, the unsung hero of this campaign, who built the best -- the best political campaign, I think, in the history of the United States of America.

To my chief strategist David Axelrod who's been a partner with me every step of the way.

To the best campaign team ever assembled in the history of politics you made this happen, and I am forever grateful for what you've sacrificed to get it done.

But above all, I will never forget who this victory truly belongs to. It belongs to you. It belongs to you.

I was never the likeliest candidate for this office. We didn't start with much money or many endorsements. Our campaign was not hatched in the halls of Washington. It began in the backyards of Des Moines and the living rooms of Concord and the front porches of Charleston. It was built by working men and women who dug into what little savings they had to give $5 and $10 and $20 to the cause.

It grew strength from the young people who rejected the myth of their generation's apathy who left their homes and their families for jobs that offered little pay and less sleep.

It drew strength from the not-so-young people who braved the bitter cold and scorching heat to knock on doors of perfect strangers, and from the millions of Americans who volunteered and organized and proved that more than two centuries later a government of the people, by the people, and for the people has not perished from the Earth.

This is your victory.

And I know you didn't do this just to win an election. And I know you didn't do it for me.

You did it because you understand the enormity of the task that lies ahead. For even as we celebrate tonight, we know the challenges that tomorrow will bring are the greatest of our lifetime -- two wars, a planet in peril, the worst financial crisis in a century.

Even as we stand here tonight, we know there are brave Americans waking up in the deserts of Iraq and the mountains of Afghanistan to risk their lives for us.

There are mothers and fathers who will lie awake after the children fall asleep and wonder how they'll make the mortgage or pay their doctors' bills or save enough for their child's college education.

There's new energy to harness, new jobs to be created, new schools to build, and threats to meet, alliances to repair.

The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. We may not get there in one year or even in one term. But, America, I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there.

I promise you, we as a people will get there.

There will be setbacks and false starts. There are many who won't agree with every decision or policy I make as president. And we know the government can't solve every problem.

But I will always be honest with you about the challenges we face. I will listen to you, especially when we disagree. And, above all, I will ask you to join in the work of remaking this nation, the only way it's been done in America for 221 years -- block by block, brick by brick, calloused hand by calloused hand.

What began 21 months ago in the depths of winter cannot end on this autumn night.

This victory alone is not the change we seek. It is only the chance for us to make that change. And that cannot happen if we go back to the way things were.

It can't happen without you, without a new spirit of service, a new spirit of sacrifice.

So let us summon a new spirit of patriotism, of responsibility, where each of us resolves to pitch in and work harder and look after not only ourselves but each other.

Let us remember that, if this financial crisis taught us anything, it's that we cannot have a thriving Wall Street while Main Street suffers.

In this country, we rise or fall as one nation, as one people. Let's resist the temptation to fall back on the same partisanship and pettiness and immaturity that has poisoned our politics for so long.

Let's remember that it was a man from this state who first carried the banner of the Republican Party to the White House, a party founded on the values of self-reliance and individual liberty and national unity.

Those are values that we all share. And while the Democratic Party has won a great victory tonight, we do so with a measure of humility and determination to heal the divides that have held back our progress.

As Lincoln said to a nation far more divided than ours, we are not enemies but friends. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection.

And to those Americans whose support I have yet to earn, I may not have won your vote tonight, but I hear your voices. I need your help. And I will be your president, too.

And to all those watching tonight from beyond our shores, from parliaments and palaces, to those who are huddled around radios in the forgotten corners of the world, our stories are singular, but our destiny is shared, and a new dawn of American leadership is at hand.

To those -- to those who would tear the world down: We will defeat you. To those who seek peace and security: We support you. And to all those who have wondered if America's beacon still burns as bright:

Tonight we proved once more that the true strength of our nation comes not from the might of our arms or the scale of our wealth, but from the enduring power of our ideals: democracy, liberty, opportunity and unyielding hope.

That's the true genius of America: that America can change. Our union can be perfected. What we've already achieved gives us hope for what we can and must achieve tomorrow.

This election had many firsts and many stories that will be told for generations. But one that's on my mind tonight's about a woman who cast her ballot in Atlanta. She's a lot like the millions of others who stood in line to make their voice heard in this election except for one thing: Ann Nixon Cooper is 106 years old.

She was born just a generation past slavery; a time when there were no cars on the road or planes in the sky; when someone like her couldn't vote for two reasons -- because she was a woman and because of the color of her skin.

And tonight, I think about all that she's seen throughout her century in America -- the heartache and the hope; the struggle and the progress; the times we were told that we can't, and the people who pressed on with that American creed: Yes we can.

At a time when women's voices were silenced and their hopes dismissed, she lived to see them stand up and speak out and reach for the ballot. Yes we can.

When there was despair in the dust bowl and depression across the land, she saw a nation conquer fear itself with a New Deal, new jobs, a new sense of common purpose. Yes we can.

When the bombs fell on our harbor and tyranny threatened the world, she was there to witness a generation rise to greatness and a democracy was saved. Yes we can.

She was there for the buses in Montgomery, the hoses in Birmingham, a bridge in Selma, and a preacher from Atlanta who told a people that "We Shall Overcome." Yes we can.

A man touched down on the moon, a wall came down in Berlin, a world was connected by our own science and imagination.

And this year, in this election, she touched her finger to a screen, and cast her vote, because after 106 years in America, through the best of times and the darkest of hours, she knows how America can change.

Yes we can.

America, we have come so far. We have seen so much. But there is so much more to do. So tonight, let us ask ourselves -- if our children should live to see the next century; if my daughters should be so lucky to live as long as Ann Nixon Cooper, what change will they see? What progress will we have made?

This is our chance to answer that call. This is our moment.

This is our time, to put our people back to work and open doors of opportunity for our kids; to restore prosperity and promote the cause of peace; to reclaim the American dream and reaffirm that fundamental truth, that, out of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope. And where we are met with cynicism and doubts and those who tell us that we can't, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people: Yes, we can.

So I go to my inbox today and of course looked at my mail from yesterday. The message was from Barack Obama titled "Tomorrow". Running through my mind I really thought I made a difference by sending a letter off in the mail (used my last stamp, too) and emailing regarding the poverty issue.

Here's what the email said:

We're just one day away from change. Election Day is tomorrow -- Tuesday, November 4th. We've asked you to do a lot over the course of this campaign, and you've always come through. Right now, I'm asking you to do one last thing -- vote tomorrow, and make sure everyone you know votes, too.

[Okay I have to admit, I got a little excited like did they really do what I requested? Am I finally gonna see the homeless population represented in this ad? And better yet, I'm I gonna hear anything about ending poverty/homelessness in America during these last days?] The email goes on to say:

Hope We're on the Same Page: November 5th Etiquette

(I'm going to leave you with this again until Tuesday this is a repost from 10/24/08 @12:07pm - just in case you missed it).

I just got this in my inbox from the "Mama Teresa" who has spoken on how "we" need to conduct ourselves on November 5th. We all realize that Barack has the potential to win and will! Take a moment to review the guidelines and add to the list by posting a comment.

To keep the peace and keep a lot of folks from getting nervous, I think we should develop a list of acceptable celebrations and behaviors we should probably avoid - at least for the first few days:

1. No crying, hugging or shouting "Thank you Lord" - at least not in public.

2. No high-fives - at least not unless the area is clear and there are no witnesses.

3. No laughing at the McCain/Palin supporters.

4. No calling in sick on November 5th. They'll get nervous if too many of us don't show up.

5. We're allowed to give each other knowing winks or nods in passing. Just try to keep from grinning too hard.

6. No singing loudly, We've come this Far By Faith (it will be acceptable to hum softly).

7. No bringing of barbeque ribs or fried chicken for lunch in the company lunchroom for at least a week (no chittlings at all) (this may make us seem to ethnic).

8. No leaving kool-aid packages at the water fountain (this might be a sign that poor folks might be getting a break through).

9. No Cupid Shuffle during breaks (this could indicate a little too much excitement).

10. Please no Moving on Up music (we are going to try to remain humble).

11. No doing the George Jefferson dance (unless you're in your office with the door closed).

12. Please try not to yell----BOOOO YAH!

13. Just in case you're wondering, Doing the Running Man, cabbage patch, or a backhand spring on the highway is 100% okay.

To whom it may concern: Shine a light on Poverty and Homelessness

I wrote an email to the Obama campaign this morning to raise the issue poverty and homelessness. After watching his special I was a little disturbed. I couldn't understand how Obama did not address these issues directly. Please believe I have mailed a letter to "Obama for America * PO Box 8102 * Chicago, IL 60680" and I plan to contact the Campaign Headquarters, here's the number: (866) 675-2008. Why did I do this? Well because I needed to and I had to get these thoughts off of my chest :) I want to encourage all of you in someway or another to write a letter, make a phone call or even email the campaign as well. I realize we are at the tail-end of the election, however, anytime is a good time to advocate for homeless people - who is going to speak up for this population. (I have made some edits before sending the hardcopy in the mail; my assistant is on a leave of absence for like 6 months) Here's what I wrote:

My family and I caught it on ~~the ad on~~ BET. We were glad that oObama spoke about the issues on health care, employment, and most importantly the state of the economy. However, as a donor to ~~his~~ the Obama campaign I was shocked that by his reluctance to address issues concerning ~~is speech really didn't talk to~~ people living in the inner cities. More than anything, the ad's DID NOT directly address "POVERTY and/or Homelessness". I did not say the "Middle Class" or "Wall Street". I do believe Barack will be the next president, but I would really hope that he shines a light on this population via viral video (free advertising) OR some other media outlet before Tuesday. What happened to being your brothers keeper or being your sisters keeper? I wasn't trying to listen to people (Tavis Smiley or Blogger Sandra Rose) talk bad about Barack in any kind of way because well I like his charisma :) But now I see where they are coming from! Barack has not been representative in his advertising to these ~~communities~~ populations especially within the past week. This scares me because now the politician is really starting to show.We need a little more than just seeing Barack, michelle, and the girls(they are definitely cute) as representative of the black/african community. Bring his message to the people in California, Texas, Louisiana, Florida, and Michigan. Did you know in the state of washington and specifically in the city of Seattle, if you are homeless and you have a criminal record ~~that~~ then a person in that situation will not even be allowed to secure housing? That is frightening! Where will these people go - answer: back under bridges, or freeways on the sides of buildings, wandering streets, jail, or possible a mental institution....just use you imagination. THE MESSAGE ~~YOU~~ BARACK IS ~~ARE~~ SENDING SAYS THIS: This population does not vote so I'm taking my message to people who will; it was very subliminal but I heard it. That is not being accountable. Be specific about how you plan to help this~~ese~~ ~~community~~ population within the first 90 days in office. Because at some point you will need these communities (african/african american, latino, asian, multiracial) and their resources! I'm just saying to raise $150M in one month (according to CNN) and not send a message to those communities directly is totally hypocritical! I probably won't cry, scream hallelujah once Barack wins the election. I'll just go on about my business and continue to do what I can do for my community. Hope you understand where I am coming from. Thanks, HotChocolate206 (sike, I put my real name) PS. I am a community organizer and in my opinion your ad's ~~are~~ did not help~~ing"~~ me. Please do not send another email to me about giving more money "if" you all do not plan to fully support these populations, plus I need to pay I my rent, childcare, buy food, buy gas and try to add to my depleted savings. I'm sure there is a surplus of campaign money floating around. Exhaust your resources man. Exhaust them! Take a moment to address these issues about poverty and homelessness. If you don't you have failed me and will perceived as no different that Hillary, Bill, the other guy running for president who can't even remember his own Secretary of State Endorsements (that's what I meant to say) or the lady from Alaska :) I could have posted a "not so nice" message on my blog but instead I wanted share this thought with your campaign and people I know that can relate and possibly understand my frustration with politics and politicians. Don't get blindsided by your privilege okay, you see what happened to Hillary. Anything can happen on Tuesday.

(wasn't that politically correct :) For some reason light skinned women find his lip suckin' and "straight teeth" attractive. Chelsea is a fool and I'm glad her show is starting to get some traction. What puzzles me is that he calls all of his children's mothers (aka baby mama's) "situations". Now if I was Teeny (aka Tiny) I would just stay myself at home. One suspect in custody for Hudson's Family Slayings; FBI Helps Search for Nephew

When I got up this morning I got news that Jennifer Hudson (American Idol) mom and brother were killed. I was feeling a little reluctant to post this today considering that there are bloggers and websites that will cover it extensively. The good news is the brother-in-law is in custody but he nephew is still missing. It is my role to be neutral and to report with integrity because these are sensitive subjects (celebrities are people too).

Here a few blogs that I trust in there judgement and have a integrity:

Note: I do not plan to "chase" the story. But there is one rumor that I want to find out if it's fact or faux. The rumor is police were called at 9am but they didn't show up to the scene until 3pm. I will give an update when I find out if this rumor is true or false and when or if the child is found. Questions to make you think:

Who do you call when something seems like an emergency to you but not the police?
If your son was missing, your mom and brother have been murdered by your husband (boyfriend, booh, whateva). would you be changing the status of your myspace page within 24hours if you were so concerned about finding your baby?
I'm not judging sister gurl but who does that?
If you were the natural father of this child, what would be the first thing you said to the mother?
Were there not any cops on patrol in that area between 9am & 11am?
Is the sister really married to this dude or did they call eachother husband and wife as nicknames?
If you gave a press conference asking to "let my baby go" do you think there would be some tears behind those words?
Isn't "domestic violence" a crime of passion between two people who are in a relationship?
What is a "domestic issue"? According to TMZ Cops say at least one of the victims had defensive wounds, which led them to believe the shootings involved domestic violence. (huh???)
Are these murders really behind a "stolen" car?
Did you peep the caption under the picture of Jennifer's brother Jason?

Police think William Balfour was at the Donerson family home around 9 a.m. Friday, the time neighbors reported hearing gunshots, a source said. Police were then able to track him to the Near Southwest Side, where he was arrested, the source said. - suntimes.com
Police believe the murders happened about 11 a.m. and started outside with the gunman firing through the door and striking Hudson's brother, according to a law-enforcement source. The gunman then entered the house and continued to fire, striking Hudson's mother when she entered the room. Police have recovered shell casings from the scene. Police said neighbors heard the shots but didn't call police because gunfire is commonplace in the neighborhood. - chicagobreakingnews.com

Last night I TiVo'd Celebrity Rehab 2. I started watching this last year and I must say it is on the same level as Keyshia Cole's reality show (premires 11-11-08). So as usual when they cast this show, it's always 1 black person. I wasn't going to give to much attention until I saw him:

I don't know if you all remember what happened to him but as a Native Californian I do. Although he is not a traditional "celebrity" he definately can be considered a "historical" figure.

On the show you can clearly see how uncomfortable he is with talking to the camera's because he's just a regular man. But his sincerity can be heard when he speaks (unlike some of the other patients) check out his bio:

RODNEY KING, Historical Figure, Age: 43

Rodney King lives in Rialto, CA and is bankrupt. Known for the 1991 beating by Los Angeles police which was caught on videotape, and was played all over the world.
The police officers'acquittal in April 1992 triggered the 'L.A. Riots' which set the city on fire with widespread looting, violence and deaths. Two officers were later found guilty of Federal civil right charges, while the other two were acquitted.
Since the 1991 incident, King has been arrested nearly a dozen times for offenses such as spousal abuse, driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, drug possession, and soliciting a transvestite prostitute.
On November 3, 1989, King assaulted a convenience store clerk with a tire iron and fled with $200. He received two years in prison for this offense but was paroled after a year. King has been married at least twice and has three daughters from three separate mothers (the youngest he hasn't seen in years due to his drug and alcohol abuse).
At one point there were reports that King was shot with birdshots fired from an unknown shotgun. He was shot in the face, arms, back, and torso. Police arrived to his home and he appeared drunk.
King was eventually awarded $3.8 million for the injuries he sustained in the police beating. In 2004, King pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of PCP after he slammed into a power pole in Rialto, CA. He broke his pelvis from the accident.
In 2005, King was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence. He currently 'works' with friends for a tow truck company called Hud & Sons Towing. However he is a danger to himself and others because he is intoxicated the majority of the time.
According to Rodney, 'If you're not drunk by 10am, you're not human.'

I am personally rooting for Rodney because I believe or want to be optimistic that he will be able to reclaim his life. Let's cross our fingers that he makes it past the finish line.
